What kind work does a Dive Technician typically do?
A Dive Technician works with all of the equipment that the diver uses. This equipment needs to be serviced initially and periodically, repaired and certified for use by the divers.
What does the training program include?
Dive Technician training is a program designed to teach students about the maintenance, repair, and inspection of the equipment that divers use. The program covers the maintenance of diving gear, including Kirby Morgan Hats, regulators, umbilicals, cylinders, compressors and other accessories. Different courses runs montly. Please contact our offices to get a schedule.
What is included in the Dive Technician training course?
The Dive Technician training course includes both classroom and hands-on practical training. It covers topics such as equipment maintenance, overhaul procedures, trouble-shooting, and repair techniques for various types of diving equipment.
What are the requiremets to enroll on the course?
You have to be 18 years of age, be able to speak and write in Englis and be able to do simple maths. If you are someone who likes to work wiht yuour hands and fix things, problem solving and work and perform under pressure, this will fit.
What previous experience would be beneficial when becoming a Dive Tech?
Technical knowlege eg. Fitter and Turner, Electrics, Mechanic, Engineering, Commercial Dive Qualifications will also give you a better understanding of the course. A passion for technical work will be a plus.
How long is the Dive Technician training course?
The length of the Dive Technician training course is 10 days.This will be exgtende for 4 days if students opt to do the 4 One-day courses after the Tech course. Theese course includs the Compressor Course, Cylinder Visual Inspection Cpourse, Gauge Calibration course and Tescom regulator course.
Do Dive Technician training programs provide job placement services?
It is recommended that students research potential employers and career opportunities in the field prior to enrolling in the program.
What are the potential career opportunities available for Dive Technicians?
